Meet Jenna Heilers – Parent Coach for Neurodivergent and Sensitive Kids
Why I Became a Parent Coach
I’ll never forget when my dad had to pull the car over because my 18-year-old brother was sobbing, saying he was broken and would never amount to anything. He’d been in therapy and on medication since he was seven—told in countless subtle ways that his struggles were his fault.
No child should grow up feeling that way.
From Occupational Therapist to Parent Coaching Expert
I’m Jenna Heilers, a parent coach and pediatric occupational therapist. I grew up in a home where my brother’s diagnosis defined his identity and impacted our entire family. Despite having access to therapy and medication, what he truly needed—understanding, modeling, and emotional safety—was missing.
That experience shaped my mission: helping parents create connected, supportive homes where children can thrive—regardless of diagnosis.
25 Years Supporting Neurodivergent Children and Families
I began working with neurodivergent children at 16 and have spent nearly 25 years studying child development, behavior, and family systems. I hold a master’s degree in occupational therapy and worked for many years in pediatric clinics and schools.
Now, I work as a private parent coach. While I do not practice as an OT in this role, I apply OT-informed frameworks, trauma-aware strategies, and developmental insight to guide families through challenges with clarity and confidence.
Coaching That Creates Real, Lasting Change at Home
Many parents come to me after trying everything—therapy, behavior plans, advice from professionals—but still feel stuck. What makes this approach different is that it’s focused on the day-to-day reality of your home life, and how you can be the most powerful source of regulation, connection, and healing for your child.
A mother I support recently told me:
“It seems like every time I tell you about a challenging behavior my daughter is having, we talk through it—and then I never see the behavior again.”
That’s not a coincidence—it’s the power of coaching that supports both the parent and the child.
